We Just Had Our First Child

Authored by Rickey Combs

My husband and I just had our first child, and it was the most amazing experience of our lives. Sadly, the delivery did not go smoothly, and I was forced to have C-section after 17 hours of labor. However, I will never forget the first time that I saw our little boy. It is an experience that is very difficult to describe. As young parents, we want to do everything that we can to protect our child and raise him into a man of character and integrity. It has not taken us long to completely change the way we do things. We no longer stay up late. When the baby goes to sleep, we go to sleep. We have also paid to have a home security system installed through adtLouisiana. Even though we have made many sacrifices as new parents, I would not trade anything for the feeling of being a parent. I love my husband dearly, but I have never quite felt the way I did when I welcomed my son into the world. While our son has not been the easiest baby, I am already looking forward to having more kids.

MAKE UP

Women are naturally beautiful, this is how God created us. Many women once they reach teenage decide whether they want to wear makeup or not. Those that do, take great pride in how their appearance is. Some women like to add special styles of makeup, that make them more appealing to men, real sexy look. Others just like how makeup makes them feel about themselves.

Many women feel like they are lost without makeup on, so they create their new look everyday. There are so many products for women today, to make changes to their appearance. You have eyelashes, to give an outstanding appearance of their eyes. Then you have the eyeliner pencils, eye shadow and so many more to capture their beauty. Now the lips, today you can get flavored glosses, lipstick in most any color, some that even last all day.

Make up is a big producing commodity for women. There is money to be made in beauty products, for both men and women. Finally, you have the foundation and a variety of blushes that accent the whole face; this usually goes on before you add the eyelashes, eyeliners, etc. Make up is like a job, you have to take time in preparation to get it done right.

IS THERE ANY SOLUTION 4 HOMELESSNESS

There are several solutions for homelessness. First, we need to learn what caused some of these families to become homeless. Depending on what the particular situation is, we must work from that point. Take for instance, if a person loses their job and all of their resources have been depleted, then we need to get them back into the work force. This will be the new beginning of restoring their loss.

Also it's important to know all the circumstances; if the company simply downsized or if they were fired, let's get all reasons out of the way. Once we get our families the help and resources they need, then we help them land a job. There are several programs out there, we just have to search them out. Now our family has landed a job and begins to rebuild their financial portfolio. After lets say, give or take 6 months to 1 year they were able to save the money to secure a decent place. Now they can feel much better about themselves and move on to new and better things of life.

Someone recently shared this information with me; Hardy Homes LLC recycles old derelict buildings into new homes! We use recycled and reclaimed materials, keeping our carbon footprint VERY LOW! We add in solar and wind power in areas that can utilize these natural resources, and rain collection barrels. Hardy Homes doesn't sell these homes and make gads of money...we rent-to-own each second chance house to a second chance family, helping them through debt counseling and saving up the down payment. Everyone deserves part of the American Dream!

GOING TO THE CHAPEL

My fiancé and I will be getting married next month. I can’t wait to begin our new life together. We purchased a new house that’s equipped with everything we need except for a security system. Growing up, we always had a security system, so I have always thought of it as a necessity. We decided to have a system installed that my fiancé found at http://www.AllHomeSecurity.com. After it has been installed, we’re going to move in all our furniture. I think it is strange that when a couple gets married, all of their family members feel the need to donate all of their ugly, unwanted furniture to them for their new house. Luckily, we were able to avoid all of the unwanted items except for our living room furniture. It is hideous. However, we don’t have the money to replace it right now, so I guess we’ll stick with it and be grateful for the generosity of my husband’s deceased great aunt. I’ll be so happy to come home from our honeymoon to our new home. My fiancé and I will be getting married next month. I can’t wait to begin our new life together. Today, living in the city we need more security. The economy is down and so many people are out of work, they are looking for jobs and can't find them. What are we going to do, it's getting harder and harder to get any type of assistance, unemployment is coming to a halt. How are we going to make it, because of this some people are turning to crime, robbing people in person or burglarizing their homes. For this those of us that have homes and even apartments must have more security.

I started searching the internet to find out some information about different security alarm systems. I remembered one called ADT that my sister-in-law had and after going to several other sites and getting quotes, I decided to call them and see what they had to offer. I'm glad I decided to get some security, because last week one of the neighbors around the corner from me was robbed. I can't stay home and babysit my house, I'm still working to pay for it so we have to try and secure what we have worked for. Take a few minutes, check out some security services it's worth it for you and your families protection.

HOMELESS, WHAT DO I DO NOW!!!

Have you ever been homeless, well it's not a very nice place to find yourself in. Let me tell you about my experience, I was about 11 years old at the time. My mother was a hard working woman and I had three other siblings living at home with me and Mommy. Two sisters and one brother, we all basically had to watch out for each other when Mommy was at work. It wasn't so bad because we were mostly very responsible children, whatever chores Mommy told us to do we'd do it. Well for the most part, anyway my brother was very smart and always found ways to make a dollar. He was a shoeshine boy, bagger at the local supermarket, you name it he probably tried it. His only problem was that he was also mischievious, once him and some other boys were caught in the base sniffing glue.

Well that was just the beginning, but it goes on and on. We grew up in the projects and they had rules; we had a mean Project Manager and he came by to visit my mother one day. He told her that if my brother got caught doing one more thing, we were going to be evicted. Oh my goodness, that was a terrible thing. I can tell you some horror stories about evictions; first there was one family that got evicted for non-payment of rent. The management office, had all of their furniture set on the street, not only that it was disgusting because they had old pissy mattresses, the furniture was busted and now they were embarrassed cause everybody new their business. Growing up around these types of experience had me implant in my mind that I would never let this happen to me. Well guess what, yes my brother was accused of robbing the laundry mat. I don't know if he did it up until today, but I do know that Mr. Heard, the manager kept his word. Now things were rough already, Mommy was the only one really making any money we were all still in school. My oldest sister was 19 and had just had a baby girl, so money was really tight. I want you to know that my mother although discouraged didn't give up. She started looking for an apartment right away, but the best part about the whole disasterous situation is that our neighbor God bless her took all of us in.

She had one daughter of her own, but that didn't matter she told my mother we could all stay with her until Mommy found a place to stay. Well we must have been there with her for i'll say about three months, Mommy was able to continue working and when she found time look for an apartment. Eventually, she found a nice two bedroom apartment in the Bronx across town from where we were. I was so happy and thankful how things worked out. My mother never forgot the kindness that our neighbor showed us, we kept in contact with her. My mother was her daughter's Godmother, after we had moved we still kept in close contact. Our neighbor, Ms. Jacobs came to visit with us and she would let her daughter spend time with my mother. We somehow lost contact with them, but Ms. Jacobs and her daughter, Jennifer we will never forget. It was because of her, my family didn't have to truely experience being homeless. Homelessness is no joke, my girlfriend Denita messed around and got evicted from her apartment and wound up having to live in a shelter, with her two daughters. It was awful for her, because the shelter system is herrendous. You have hundreds of people clutter in one big room, sleeping on cots. She told me that they steal from each other, because all you are provided with is a locker and thieves can break into anything. Not only that, there are all types of germs floating around. Also you don't know if you are living with a rapist, drug dealer, homosexual or what. Some of them have diseases like tuberculosis; aids, herpes and who knows what else. She shared that it was a difficult time in her life and she regret making the mistakes that caused her to have to live like this. She worked with me so I saw her everyday and there was continuous horror stories about living in the shelter.

After about a year and a half, she was fortunate enough to be placed in what they call a tier two apartment. I am happy to say that for the past 10 years, she has been able to maintain her own apartment and her children are grown and on their own. Let us all think about this, our lives are so important we have to make wise decisions to protect ourselves from these types of disasters. Sometimes circumstances arise that we really have no control over, but for what we do have control over let us be wise and stay focused so we don't have to experience homelessness. Life is too precious to have to go through such struggles, remember you only have one life to live, let us make the best of it.
